A LOT of controversy is going on whether or not Vodafone NZ will provide their prepay customers with the new iPhone 3G.
After reading many discussions over the internet, people have stated that it is ‘confirmed’ that the iPhone 3G will not be available to Vodafone’s prepay customers, although there is no such written proof (that I have found).
NZMac.com have dicussed this issue in more detail though my arguement against it…
NZMac.com produced pictures of the changes which were made in Vodafone’s statements:

Got bored today so decided to ring 777 and have a chat with the Customer Service team at Vodafone bout the ‘iPhone 3G’ and asked regarding prepay and the about the changes in statements. She did say yes the statements have changed but it is not yet confirmed whether or not Vodafone NZ’s prepay customers will be able to buy the phone or not. This really does leave a big question mark on what’s happening on the prepay side of things. Although I most likely will change to a contract for the iPhone as I will be using it a lot for it’s GPS features and making a lot more calls from now on, for the prepay customers (as I have always been one and currently am one) the only solution for you could be to wait for the big ‘craze’ over the iPhone to get over and force Vodafone to release the phone on prepay, unless you can afford to go on contract and make use of the true capabilities of the iPhone 3G.
